You were right, it didn't get past quarantine unscathed. They ripped out the sound deadener under the bonnet because there were some seeds embedded in it.  Still, I suppose that is in the interests of Australia and it was only a minor setback.

The car's here, in its new home!!  Picked it up from Charleston last Friday. Made it safely although the crate took a bit of a beating. Nothing seems to be damaged.  No problems getting through customs. I had to laugh at the declaration though, "Steering wheel: vehicle other".

Many thanks for that. Chris did send me a quick e-mail yesterday. I’m now just waiting for the likely large bill that is coming my way from him (gulp!). After that I will enjoy it.
